What to do if you can’t accept client invites in QuickBooks Online Accountant

This type of user signs into a special version of Quickbooks Online and has access to reports only. But, this user doesn’t have access to Payroll reports. This user does not count toward your current limit of users as per subscriptions plan.

And, you’ll find Pinch and Zoom functionality in the mobile apps and in browsers on mobile devices. With access to your company, your accountant can review your books, make corrections, and collaborate on any issues. Accountant users have additional privileges that let them undo entire reconciliations, reclassify transactions, and write off invoices. They can also use accountant-specific tools to help you prepare for taxes.

Right-click the Accept Invitation link and copy the web address. In the Products section, select No subscription. Here’s what to do if you can’t accept their invitation. How do you invite your accountant?

Ask your client to send the invite to the email address you use for your QuickBooks Online Accountant firm. In the Invite your accountant field, enter your accountant’s email address. Your accountant will be asked to create a user ID before signing in the first time, unless they already have an account with Intuit Business Services. Ask questions, get answers, and join our large community of QuickBooks users. If you no longer want your accountant to access your books, you can remove them. When batch edit is selected, the Chart of Accounts includes a number field so that numerous account numbers can be added.

In addition to using the QBO mobile apps for iOS and Android, you also can access the QBO sign-in page and your QBO account from your mobile device’s browser at Intuit. Intuit also offers a desktop version of QBO, referred to in this book as, cleverly, QBO Desktop. This version is not a mobile app (it won’t work on phones and isn’t available in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store) but it will work on any Mac or Windows computer. This includes “portable” computers, like laptops and tablets running Windows or Mac OS, making it somewhat mobile. It also is not the QuickBooks Desktop product, which is not a cloud-based product.

Here’s how to add clients who already have QuickBooks Online or Self-Employed. We’ll also show you how to add clients who are brand new to QuickBooks. Your accountant will get an email with a link to your QuickBooks. From there, it’s up to your accountant to log in and start working on your books. Your accountant won’t have access to your QuickBooks Self-Employed data anymore.

In most cases, that is enough, and no other actions are required from you. But it may be a case related to QBO defects or permissions policy when your accountant still can’t access some information or can’t make necessary changes. Click the gear icon, which will open a new menu.

The Navigation bar changes to support an accountant’s needs. At the top of the screen, you see tools that help QBO users create transactions, search for existing transactions, and view settings for the QBO company. Clicking the three-striped button beside the QuickBooks logo above the Navigation bar enables you to collapse the Navigation bar to view just the icons .

A 10-digit phone number is required to create an Intuit account. Your User ID will be the email address that the Link invitation was sent to. Anyone invited into Intuit Link will be required to have a User ID and password. If you are wondering how the invitation looks like, it looks like this. Just an email with information about you and your organization and the “Accept” invitation button. I have yet to receive the invitation email.

• When you click on “Manage Users”, it will show the list of existing users and the option to add new users.

Now, on the Accounting firms tab, you will see the invitation you send, and you have an option to resend the invitation or cancel it by pressing the desired action. If you are adding a “Regular” or “Custom” user, it will take you to the next screen where you can set permissions. You can choose which type of user to add from the above options. Click on the type of user you want to add and click “Next”.
